red-cross-nz-logoIn line with Kids on f.o.o.t’s mission, to have our kids thinking about the community around them and exposing them to people who are already serving them and their communities, this holiday, your child will be learning about the Red Cross.

The Red Cross will be visiting Kids on f.o.o.t in both weeks of the programme.  The first week will be a focus on the voluntary work they do locally, nationally and internationally.  The second week of the holiday the kids will have the opportunity to gain first aid skills in order to be more of an asset to our community.  The kids will be equipped with basic first aid skills and knowing what they need to do in an emergency situation.  The kids will do the Red Cross “People Savers” course which has been designed for primary aged children.  Kids on f.o.o.t will be making a donation to the Red Cross and would like to challenge our families to give generously also – be sure to ask your kids what they are learning and why the Red Cross is worthy of a donation towards their work.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to the $225.10 Kids on f.o.o.t presented to Te Omanga Hospice at our concert for the patients and volunteers last holiday.

You will also see that your child will be doing typical holiday activities such as going to the movies and the swimming pools amongst our learning about the Red Cross.  (Please note, the programme/events may change for unforeseen circumstances, you will be notified of any major changes that may affect pick up/drop off times)
